Join Girls on the Run at FES!
There's still time to join our Girls on the Run team at FES! Practice will begin on Tuesday, February 9 and registration is open until February 17. Click the link to register or contact Mrs. Blackwelder if you have any questions!
Black History Month at FES
Fairforest Elementary is excited for the activities we have planned to celebrate Black History Month! Throughout February, FES students will learn about influential African Americans on our morning news show and the impact they have had on the world! During the last week of February, students and staff are encouraged to participate in our Black History Month celebration days, which are:
Monday, February 23rd: Athletic Day - Wear your favorite attire from your favorite African American athlete
Tuesday, February 24th: Black Panther Day - Wear black attire or your favorite Black Panther gear in remembrance of the actor, Chadwick Boseman
Wednesday, February 25th: Greek Life Day - Wear your favorite HBCU or fraternity/sorority colors
Thursday, February 26th: Day of Unity - Wear red, green, black, and/or yellow
Friday, February 27th: I Have A Dream Day - Wear your pajamas and enjoy the read-aloud of the book, “I Have A Dream” by Martin Luther King Jr., with your class

FES STEAM Night: February 19!
Join Us for FES's STEAM Night: It's A Jungle Out There on Thursday, February 19th, from 5:30PM-7:00PM. In efforts to monitor the number of families at each activity, as well as how many books will need to be purchased for the event, we would love for families to RSVP by February 13th. On this fun night, FES families will have the opportunity to:
* Receive a copy of the book, “Giraffes Can’t Dance,” with pointers on engaging your child in reading
* Create an animal mask to wear
* Participate in a fun, dancing snake STEAM activity
* Enjoy a yummy, jungle-themed snack
* Attend 5th grade’s performance of Disney’s “The Jungle Book KIDS”
On this fun night, FES families will have the opportunity to:
